Operation Migration is a non-profit charitable organization that uses ultralights to teach birds a migratory route. This fall will be the fifth season they have come through Indiana with the endangered whooping cranes in establishing a migratory route from central Wisconsin to northern Florida. We are happy once again to assist with helping their ground and aviation teams teach another brood of young “whoopers” this route. You may learn more about their work and history by clicking on the picture at the top of this page, going to www.operationmigration.org or rent the great family video Fly Away Home! They now have raised the number of migrating whooping cranes from 39 to just over 200!
In this endeavor, we ask for your financial support. The annual budget of this undertaking is slightly over $500,000. As with most non-profit organizations, struggling with fund raising is a constant challenge. This season has many tragedies in our own country and raising funds remains a focus. Please give as generously as you can. Our goal from our Indiana aviation community this season is $15,000. If you are unable to give this season, please help us by passing this on to someone you know that may financially support of this aviary cause.
You may donate using your credit card by clicking on the PayPal Donate button below. It is a secure PayPal transaction. We will submit the total funds generated to the Operation Migration team when they travel through Indiana in late October to mid-November. You may check back to our website and see the thermometer of our collections.
