My Excalibur
My Excalibur

Greetings, Welcome to the ULpilot website. This site is dedicated to ultralight and light aircraft pilots. I wanted to create a website that is a source of information for those of us that fly ultralights and light aircraft. For links and more information, visit the Indy Flyers website. I have been a member of the Indy Flyers for several years and If you have any questions or comments, send those to me by clicking on the "Give us your feedback" link at the bottom of this page.

This domain "ULPilot.com" is up for grabs.
If you are interested then let me know.

Teresa Jean has been SOLD!

My plane is a model 2001 Excalibur from Excalibur Aircraft. Named 'Teresa Jean', after my lovely wife, she is beautiful as well. She can also be seen in the December 2001 Issue of Kitplanes ( page 36, the first and second pictures at the top of the page) and in the January 2002 issue of AERO Connections (page 4 'FEATURES' and page 14 in the story of the 2001 Indy Flyers Annual Autumn Fly-In). I was also told that in the March 2002 issue of Ultralight Flying! magazine, on page 48 in the Competition Corner I won 2nd place with my Excalibur (although it is incorrectly spelled Excaliber) in the Fixed-wing 2-seater class. Here is a list of some of the things I have added to my plane:

ACK Technologies model E-01 ELT (Emergency Locator Transmitter)
BRS VLS-900 (ballistic parachute)
Comtronics Dual-Com, Instruct-O-Com intercom and 2 Aero 500 Military style helmets
Graphics and Vinyl Lettering by Jim Cheney and The Sign Studio, Indianapolis, Indiana
JRC, JHP-520 NAV/COM radio
Kuntzleman Electronics Hot-Box
Kuntzleman Streamlined Strobes for the vertical stabilizer and both wingtips
Landing Lights
Storage compartment with doors that lock
MAC Systems electric elevator trim tab
Cockpit panel lights
Parking Stand - manually raised and lowered from cockpit
Radio Shack CB Radio
Wheel Pants and Nose Cone by Precision Composite Inc.

On Saturday August 11, 2001 I attended my first fly-in with my Excalibur. It was at Les Wheeler's Westfield airport in Westfield Indiana. My Teresa Jean won 'Best Aircraft' and was awarded The Wheeler Award for 'Best Plane of the Fly-In' as judged by the spectators of the event.

See below for more information about buying my Excalibur.

In April 2002, several of us flew from Indianapolis, Indiana to Sun N Fun at Lakeland, Florida. Here is a picture of my Excalibur tied down at SnF. It was very windy when we were down there. It was a great flight. It took approximately 14 flying hours to reach SnF.

Teresa Jean has been SOLD!

My Excalibur has been sold, I will miss her. I was a Basic Flight Instructor (BFI) and I enjoyed flying and instructing in my Excalibur but I can no longer safely fly. I have sold her to a gentleman in Sarasota Florida. Here is some more information on my Excalibur:
